Special Needs Special MinistrySaturday, 10 November, 2012All Saints Church, Woodford GreenA one-day conference for parents, carers, workers, church volunteers and leaders.£20.00Advanced Booking Closed Event TabsDescription Online bookings for this event have now closed but you may come and book on the day. This one-day conference is for parents, carers, workers, church volunteers and leaders; for members of ordinary churches who want to make an extraordinary difference through helping those who have special needs and their families meet Jesus and grow in faith through participation in the life of their church. Many people who have special needs find it difficult to participate in the life of their churches for a variety of reasons. Many churches find it difficult to know how to facilitate this participation in real and practical ways. Knowing where to start, finding the expertise and resources can seem daunting... 'our passion is to equip and enable churches to include members of their church families who have additional needs, to access church in a way that is meaningful, appropriate and specific to them' Arising out of the special needs ministry at the New Wine summer conferences based in ‘Our Place’, as well as the experience of people working in their local churches and communities, this conference, led by Heather Holgate and Paul Harcourt, aims to provide you with encouragement and practical ideas that you can implement in your home church. Speakers Heather Holgate is a children’s occupational therapist and has co-ordinated the special needs provision at New Wine over the past 12 years. More... Paul Harcourt is Vicar at All Saints Woodford Wells and is also part of the leadership team for the LSE New Wine Summer Conference. More...
