Student Pastor

St Aldates church is looking to appoint a dynamic Student Pastor for the male students to lead alongside the existing Student Team in taking forward its undergraduate ministry in the heart of Oxford. Over 300 students from the two universities in the city attend St Aldates with 120+ comprising the core undergrad community attending the weekly 'Student Night' gathering, Sunday services, weekly small groups, outreach events, black tie balls and annual weekend away. This vocational role, as part of the leadership of the wider church, will include regular discipleship and mentoring, Bible teaching and preaching, event planning and overseeing, as well as fostering friendships with other leaders and groups within the universities - in order to lead the student community into being a faithful and provocative missional presence. This high capacity individual will have prior experience of Christian leadership, a high level of interpersonal skills and a clear ability for public speaking. They will be self motivating, efficient and well organised with a commitment to the wider vision and aims of St Aldates. Some theological training is required. The start date is negotiable within July/August 2012. Salary is in the range £20-24,000 pa, subject to experience.
