Youth and Community Worker

We may have created the job you’ve been looking for… Urban Hope and StreetSpace have teamed up to create an innovative post that seeks to promote people’s personal, social and spiritual development in line with the core youth work principles of empowerment, education, participation and equality of opportunity. You will be working as part of the Urban Hope team delivering the project's work with young people in the local community. This role has a particular focus on young peoples spiritual development. Alongside this local work you will work as part of FYT’s StreetSpace project as their main presence in London, to facilitate the growth of StreetSpace. The post holder will develop practical work and theological understanding within the Urban Hope community and disseminate lessons and strategies into the wider Christian community through StreetSpace and FYT, which in turn will facilitate the expansion of StreetSpace across the city. This post involves a 50/50 % split, half in local work at Urban Hope, and half in developing/supporting new projects across the London area. Theological and practice innovation is at the heart of our vision for this post which has the support of the Bishop of London, Frontier Youth Trust and CMS. There is a genuine occupational requirement that the post holder is a practising Christian. Enhanced CRB disclosure is required for this post. Salary: JNC professional range 10-14 + Inner London allowance £2,891 + non-contributory pension 6%
