Key Activities: Leaders' Retreats
The New Wine Leaders' Retreats were established in 1990 and ‘seek to provide real opportunities to experience something of the life of a renewed local church and to be exposed to different models of ministry’. The aim of a retreat is to give participants a new vision of the Kingdom ministry of Jesus and the church. We hope that each person present will have a powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit which will strengthen their identity as a child of God and renew their sense of call to a Kingdom ministry.
By the end of the Leaders' Retreat, leaders will have had an opportunity to:
- Grow in ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit.
- Receive teaching on a range of topics on Leadership.
- Receive regular prayer ministry and a time of personal prophetic ministry.
- Participate in small ‘sharing groups’, which encourage prayer amongst the participants and to hear the Lord's voice for their lives.
They are primarily an experience of ministry, rather than a series of lectures, but they do cover input on a wide range of subjects from experienced church leaders.
We run two types of Leaders' Retreats: a Leaders' Retreat A (5 days - normally Monday to Friday); and a Leaders' Retreat B (normally 2 or 3 days) for people who have already attended an A retreat.
TEACHING
Typically during a Leaders' Retreat, there will be a range of teaching that falls into the following streams:
- Kingdom principles for renewal
- Leadership
- Worship
- Hearing from God/the Prophetic
- Discipleship
- Spirituality and spiritual growth
- Youth Work
- Evangelism
- Relationships
- Mission & social justice
