REPORTING TO: Marketing Operational Lead
HOURS: 36.25 / Full time
Place of work: Waverley Abbey House, Farnham, 4 days per week, with 1 day remote.
Salary: £25,500

Job Purpose
As a Digital Marketing Assistant at Waverley Abbey, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the Marketing Department by executing digital marketing campaigns and key activities. Your primary focus will be on organic social media, email marketing, community engagement, and paid social media. By doing so, you’ll help increase brand awareness, drive engagement, and expand our reach among both existing supporters and new audiences.
Organic Community Social Media Management
> Manage organic social media channels, ensuring consistent and engaging content across platforms.
> Plan, schedule, and publish posts that reflect Waverley Abbey’s mission and values.
> Monitor performance, identify opportunities for growth, and optimise content for engagement and reach.
> Support community engagement across digital platforms by monitoring and responding to reviews, comments, and messages in a timely and brand-appropriate manner.
> Foster positive interactions that strengthen relationships and enhance brand reputation.
> Provide regular insights to the team on engagement trends and feedback.
Paid Social Media Ads Management
> Support the execution of paid social media campaigns across platforms such as Meta, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
> Monitor performance, optimise ads for ROI, and provide regular reports to the team.
Email Campaign Set-Up
> Assist in the creation and implementation of email marketing campaigns, including list segmentation, content creation, scheduling, and performance reporting.
> Ensure emails are optimised for deliverability, open rates, and click-through rates.
> Support continuous improvement through testing and data-driven recommendations.
Brand Management
> Support the implementation of the organisation’s brand guidelines across all digital marketing activities.
> Ensure consistency and alignment with brand values, messaging, and visuals.
Support Strategy Development
> Contribute to the development and execution of marketing strategies and campaigns that increase brand awareness, drive engagement, and expand our reach to both existing supporters and new audiences.
Collaborative Working
> Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and supportive environment within the Marketing & Communications team.
> Provide technical guidance and support to team members regarding digital marketing tools and platforms, helping to build a culture of continuous learning and development.
In Addition
> Carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested by your line manager or as required by the needs of the organisation.
Requirements - Essential
> A passion for digital marketing and a keen interest in utilising digital channels for marketing.
> Basic understanding of paid social media advertising platforms (e.g., Facebook Ads Manager) and email marketing tools (e.g., HubSpot).
> Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
> Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
> Knowledge of or interest in Christian charities and organisations.
Requirements – Desirable
> A qualification in digital marketing or a relevant field.
> Experience working with paid social media advertising platforms (e.g., Facebook Ads Manager) and email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp).
> Experience working in marketing for a Christian charity or organisation.
