Thirst Team

THE ROLE

You'll befriend, lead and encourage the young people on-site in a way that is relevant and sensitive.

This is done in three ways:

  1. Seminar-format sessions.
  2. The four activity teams (Sports, Detached, Flava cafe and The Vibe)
  3. By sharing the gospel, praying for and ministering to the young people in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The day starts with a time of team prayer and preparation for the day’s activities. Your time is rewarding but needs energy and commitment. You will need to be a Christian with an active, living faith, a heart for young people and regular attendance at a church/fellowship.

THIRST TEAMS

Flava cafe - 16 years and over

The venue includes giant Jenga, table football, air hockey, dance mats and fantastic exotic smoothies. Team members will serve food and drinks, and mix with the Thirst crowd. It's a great place to serve and meet lots of people.

Detatched team - adult team only
This team makes contact with the youth on-site who are not taking part in the event programme, particularly the main meetings. The aim is to build relationships with these young people, introducing and/or sharing the gospel in an appropriate way and encouraging them to attend the activities. The time involves being out on-site, looking for and meeting up with young people who are not part of the Youth venue wherever they are – at a favourite hangout or their camping village.

Sports team - adult team only
The Sports team provide a full sports programme in the afternoons for all age groups. Tasks include organising activities, manning the sports desk and responding to delegates’ enquiries, teaching, coaching, refereeing, co-ordinating and supervising all the players – children, youth and adults – who are taking part in the sports activities. Experience in refereeing and/or a First Aid qualification is preferable but not essential.

The Vibe - 16 years and over
The role involves serving refreshments to, and building relationships with, young people in the venue. You'll be required to take responsibility for venue security, maintaining venue appearance, handling money and stock, and ensuring that the recycling policy works.
