New Wine - Local churches changing nations

our_place_teamOur Place serves children and young people who have a variety of special needs, and their families. These may include physical disability, learning difficulties and autistic spectrum disorders.

If you would like to work alongside children or young people who have special needs, and you are 17 years of age or over, we would be delighted to welcome you onto team. The team in Our Place run a special program of activities designed for those who find it difficult to participate in other groups, and includes drama, worship, craft and games. OurPlacepaintingIf you don’t have any previous experience of working with people who have special needs, this will not exclude you from the team, as support and training will be given. There will be a training day held prior to the summer conferences.

At the LSE and CSW conferences in Shepton Mallet, where possible, team members support individuals so that they can participate in their age-appropriate activities. For example, you might be part of a special needs team working within another venue, such as Rock Solid, Pebbles or a café. Support is given either on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.

Hours: Include a morning session and either an afternoon or evening session, approximately 8 hours each day.
