New Wine - Local churches changing nations

Fancy serving up hot chocolates and smoothies, chatting in the food court, praying in the seminars or celebrations, or playing basketball?

Whatever role you choose to do within the youth team, you'll be making a difference to someone's life. Youth covers Club One and Thirst, and there are a variety of roles within each group.

Club One

For 12-13 year-olds, Club One has two main meetings per day. You'll serve as small group leaders either on your own or paired up with another team member helping with activities, facilitating discussions and praying with young people. There will be:

  • Seminar-format sessions
  • Activity teams
  • Time to share the gospel, pray for and minister to the young people in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The day starts with a time of team prayer and preparation for the day’s activities. The time is rewarding and needs energy and commitment. You need to be 16 years or over to apply, a Christian with an active, living faith, a heart for young people and regular attendance at a church/fellowship.
Approx hours: 8am-1pm and 6-9:30pm

Thirst

As part of the Thirst team, you'll befriend, lead and encourage the 14-18s on site in a way that is relevant and sensitive. You will need to be a Christian with an active, living faith, a heart for young people and regular attendance at a church/fellowship. There will be:

  • Seminar-format sessions
  • Activity teams (Flava cafe, NGage, Sports and The Vibe)
  • Time to share the gospel, praying for and ministering to the young people in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Flava cafe includes giant Jenga, table football, air hockey, dance mats and fantastic exotic smoothies. Team members will serve food and drinks, and mix with the Thirst crowd. It's a great place to serve and meet lots of people. You must be 16 years or over to apply.

The NGage team is for adults only. This team makes contact with the youth on site who are not taking part in the event programme, particularly the main meetings. The aim is to build relationships, introducing and/or sharing the gospel in an appropriate way and encouraging them to attend the activities. The time involves being out on-site, looking for and meeting up with young people who are not part of the Youth venue wherever they are – at a favourite hangout or their camping village.
