Cam, Clapham

During worship at the New Wine summer conference in 2011 I had a strong sense that I should go to the New Wine Radio office. I didn’t even know where it was, but I left the worship session and went to look for it.

I found it in a hut near the showground. The people there were busy and asked me to sit in the waiting area. I sat there, feeling a bit unsure of why I was there, and after five minutes a lady came out and said 'I've got the information you need right here, just let me write it down for you.' I said nothing, she then wrote the name of a website, something like ‘Start your own radio station.com’, so I took the paper and stayed where I was.

I would like to tell you about my day in Harrogate at the Women's Day.

But first let me describe a little of my life in the last 5 years. My husband had left to be with another partner. After prayer that I would find another partner, I met the man that I had prayed about, but he was not a Christian. We married and after 4 months he was diagnosed with a grade 4 brain tumour. He came to Christ, and died a year later.

I would like to share with you how our Lord loves us very much.

In my previous testimony in 2010 I explained how I was an ex-gambler, alcoholic, drug taker and thief. I gave my life to the Lord at the age of 46. I currently go out on the streets of Aylesbury with the Healing on the Streets team, and we have seen the Lord heal, and transform lives.

We have been learning a bit about the importance of perseverance in our own church in recent months. We are not unused to seeing wonderful demonstrations of God’s healing power and people healed in direct response to prayer ministry. However, two recent cases have reminded us of the importance of persevering in prayer, when we do not see rapid results - of being in it for the long haul.

Five years ago, one of the toddlers in our church family was diagnosed with a life-threatening kidney condition for which there was no known medical cure.

Representing all of the New Wine and Tearfund supporters who had signed up to Unearth the Truth, Directors of New Wine John and Anne Coles delivered over 10,000 actions to the Treasury, where they, together with Tearfund Chief Executive Matthew Frost, met with Treasury Minister David Gauke MP.

Tearfund, together with New Wine, sent a clear message to the Chancellor, calling for the UK Government to tackle global corruption.  Find out more

On Tuesday 11 October 2011, Tearfund, together with New Wine, sent a clear message to the Chancellor, calling for the UK Government to tackle global corruption.

Unearth the Truth is urging the UK Government and the European Union to bring in robust legislation that requires extractive companies to publish what they pay to pay poorer country governments - and thanks to the campaigning of Christians up and down the country a light is beginning to be shone into this often murky world and a great start has been made to campaign. Please note: some may find Jo's story disturbing

Jo Robson, Kingsland Church, Colchester

I firstly want to thank you for yet another fantastic year! A big thank you to all the people who do the children's work. They do an amazing job, I think one of the most moving moments was on the day off at the ground breakers celebration all the children standing with there eyes closed, hands lifted singing father god i wonder  - just there voices no music - it was truely magical and so what this is all about its amazing!! it had us all in tears!

In the middle of June i was taken ill. at first they though i had a kidney infection so sent me home with anti biotics. within 12 hours i had had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic and was back in hospital again. they decided to do a scan and found my kidneys were fine but i had a large 6 cm ovarian cyst. when the doctor came to see me after the scan they said it was unusual and could be cancerous and they had to run some tests. that week waiting was awful but eventually they called back and said it wasnt cancerous but a benign tumour that needed to be removed asap as it can have complications. so we had been warned they would try and do it as a key hole procedure but to expect that it would end in a major operation with the removal of my ovary.

Hannah Nash, Community Church, Caterham [Story from Thirst youth group at LSE]

This summer was my first New Wine. Whilst there I was unfortunate enough to fall and break my right ankle, on Thursday. I went to the hospital that day and had a back slab put on. I was shown the line on the x-ray that was my fracture and was sent away with the disk to give to the fracture clinic at the hospital back home. The day after I was in a significant amount of pain and couldn't put weight on my ankle. Just before worship that evening I had my first proper encounter with the Holy Spirit, and was laid down on the floor. I felt a warm sensation in my lower half and felt as though I was being lifted. During worship, I lost my balance and trod down on my ankle to prevent myself from falling. There was no pain. I could not only walk, but I could run, hop and jump on my ankle.

The following Wednesday I went to the hospital back home. I went for an x-ray and on the return of the images, the consultant was unable to detect my fracture. All i'm left with is some swelling and bruising. I am proud to say that God healed me within 24hrs of having fractured my ankle.
