This year I attended the New Wine summer conference for the second time, the first being last year. My wife died three years ago after a long battle with breast cancer.

Wednesday 4th was the third anniversary of Rosemarie's death. The main speaker in the evening was Eleanor Mumford. She spoke about healing. Rosemarie had many prayers for her to be healed. I personally know of people who have been prayed for and have been healed of their illnesss. So for me the whole subject of healing is difficult. The talk for me went along way to explaining why not everyone who is prayed for is healed. Eleanor talked about 'The Kingdom come...The Kingdom coming. The now.. and the not yet. She used an analogy to explain a bit more. When the D Day landings took place victory against Germany was assured but the final victory was not until VE Day, eleven months later. In the time in between there were thousand of casualties. I found this analogy very helpful.

She gave examples of prayers being answered and prayers not being answered. A lady she knew had one child and desperately wanted two more children but could not conceive. A group of people got together and prayed for her. Two weeks later she conceived twins. Another lady had been prayed for over several years but nothing happened and recently she has had a hysterectomy.

I found Eleanor's talk so helpful and learned so much from it. I purchased the DVD and CD. Eleanor is such a good speaker with a sense of humour.
