The Discipleship Year at Trinity Streetsville
The New Wine/DY Training Centre in Mississauga/Canada operates from Trinity Streetsville, a contemporary, charismatic Anglican Church located in Streetsville. Streetsville is “the village in the city” and we are part of the Greater Toronto Area. Toronto/Mississauga is Canada’s largest city and a world leader in such areas as business, education, finance, technology, entertainment and culture. Its large population of immigrants from all over the globe has also made Toronto one of the most multicultural cities in the world. Our mission at Trinity is to “Love Jesus, Live Like Jesus, & Lead Others To Jesus.” Trinity Streetsville is the first DY Hub in North America and we are excited to offer you a year of growth and adventure in a new country and in a vibrant city.
Teaching
There will be 8 hours of teaching each week. We will appoint one of the working days to be devoted to teaching.
Mission Opportunities
For our pilot year, Trinity will be the primary site for placements. Trinity offers four different ministry placements as you work alongside our amazing staff team members. Worship Leadership (with Libby Mcgrath), Youth Ministry & Children’s Ministry (with Grace Gwynne-Vaughan & Julie Wormald) and Worship Media Production (with Alex Stevens). Other opporunities may include Summer Camp, Senior’s Ministry, and Church Planting/Evangelism.
Cost
Course fees of £1000 (~$1700 CAD), payable at the beginning of the course.
Accommodation
DY Students will be housed together in a local house provided by the church. All other living expenses (food, travel, etc…) will be the student’s responsibility.
Please note: International students on a Canadian tourist visa will not be allowed to earn income/employment.
Timing
Because of the limitations of Canadian tourist visas, our first DY program is 6 months long, running from February – August 2023 (dates to be finalised). We hope to run a year long program beginning in September 2023.
