The New Wine Discipleship year in Poole is based at St Mary’s Longfleet (SML), a large, lively charismatic Anglican church in the New Wine network, that coordinates regional New Wine events. We are made up of people from many difference walks of life, but together we share a common vision: to be shaped by Jesus to grow disciples, build community and reach out to transform Poole, the South Coast and beyond. Poole is part of a larger urban conurbation including Bournemouth and Christchurch, providing many opportunities for serving the local community. It offers amazing beaches, water sports, one of the world’s largest natural harbours, and beautiful countryside. The church has recently finished a large church centre redevelopment, already being used for many community and conference events.
There will be 8 hours of teaching each week. Additional time is given for personal study. All interns will be paired with a mentor who will support you throughout the year.
Internships will be based at SML, but there may be possibilities of serving within other local churches. We offer internships in the following areas: Musical Worship, Local Outreach, Emerging Generation Ministries (Children, Youth, Students and 20s), Schools Ministry, Families Ministry, Media, and Church Administration.
Course fees of £1,000 payable at the beginning of the course.
Interns find their own accommodation locally, although there may be possibilities of accommodation in family or shared homes. Students are encouraged to take part time employment to cover their living expenses.
