Luminosity Team
DBS Required for those aged 17+ (age when onsite)
Join our Youth (11-18s, School years 7-13) teams and help run an incredible event of worship, sports, seminar-style sessions, cafes and more, with quality time to share the gospel and pray for the young people in the power of the Holy Spirit.
The sub-teams of Luminosity are:
Luminosity Team (from ages 18+)
You’ll be helping the LUMINOSITY core team throughout the event. That will include a bit of everything from praying for young people, ensuring they stay safe in venue and getting to know young people. You’ll be involved in the main celebrations and seminars each day.
Participation in games is often a highlight for the team members!
We are looking for anyone who has a heart for young people and to see them encounter Jesus, whether you are young or old. Come and join in!
You will be required to help serve another team during the afternoons and will be asked where you would like to serve on your team application (Choices include sports, after hours or café).
Detached Team (from ages 18+)
Whilst the majority of young people will spend most of the time in the main venues, some prefer to stay at camp, hang out with friends in the stretch tent or the snug (cafe) and enjoy the surroundings of the Luminosity site. Some great conversations are often outside of the main celebrations!
If you like the outdoors, enjoy meeting new young people, and are confident at striking up a conversation and making people feel at home – then this team is definitely for you!
Young Team (ages 16-17)
If you are aged 16-17, want to serve on team, and want to give something back to the younger generation, then come and be a part of our younger youth team. You’ll be able to have all the opportunities of praying and serving young people, participating in crowd games, and helping the youth of LUMINOSITY have a great time!
The youth venue is full of high-energy involvement, and we love to party!
All Team will receive training pre-site and on-site, and those over 17 years will need to undergo a DBS check as part of the application process (see the main Teams page for further info).
Age
- Young Team 13-17 years
- Adult team 18+
You will need:
- A heart to serve.
- Bags of energy and enthusiasm.
- To be active and willing to help children engage with Jesus.
- Be able to be part of a team and be ready for anything.
- Recent experience of working with children.
*Serving on the kids and youth teams can be physically demanding and require a lot of moving around and sitting on the floor. If this may prove difficult for you, please contact info@new-wine.org to discuss how we might best support your needs.
Hours
Team hours vary, typically serving morning and evening shifts, with additional activities in the afternoons and late evenings.
New Wine wouldn’t exist without our army of volunteers – there are thousands! We know how important you are to the New Wine family and want to make sure you are valued.
Each Team member pays a non-refundable £30 fee. This is to contribute to the significant costs of administering all the necessary management and administration, which New Wine meets the majority of centrally as an organisation. You will also need to provide your own accommodation (either on or off-site).
