Prayer Ministry Training Day, Darlington
We are delighted that Matthew Porter, vicar of St Michael le Belfrey, will be leading our Prayer Ministry Training Day on Saturday 7th July. This is a day not to be missed; you are welcome if you are a beginner or if you would just like refreshing.
Matthew lives in York where he is Vicar of The Belfrey. This is a large multi-site church, attracting many in the 18-30s age group each week. It has a vision to be serving God's transformation of the North and regularly sees new people committing their lives to Christ and being baptised. The church runs a House of Prayer and provides support for other churches in York by providing a space, events and training in worship, prayer and leadership. Matthew has been married to Sam for 27 years and they have 6 sons (aged 14-25). As well as Jesus and people, Matthew loves bacon, beaches and their Basset Hound, Harvey. He believes that nothing of lasting significance happens without prayer and is passionate about training young leaders.
The training day will consist of 4 sessions with the final session giving space for practising and praying for each other and feedback.
1. Re-presenting Jesus. Talks about His ministry being our ministry. Jesus is our model.
2. How did Jesus do it. He only did what he saw the Father doing.
3. The importance of Learning to hear God’s voice in the process
4. Specific section on physical healing. Practicalities on prayer ministry (5 step model – John Cole’s ‘Learning to Heal’)
Cost: £10.00 (Please bring your own packed lunch – drinks will be provided)
