Description of Job
St James Muswell Hill is a large and thriving evangelical church in North London. Each Sunday over 500 adults and 200 children pass through our doors, from all walks of life. We gather in the week to disciple one another under the scriptures and care for our community in a raft of ministries. We are passionate to see lives changed under the power of God’s word, and excited about the opportunities he is opening for us.
Our Ministry Intern Scheme is made up of three key elements:
Training - normally through a formal scheme such as Cornhill
Ministry - in one or two chosen areas of focus, such as music & tech, community outreach, youth & kids ministry
Service - supporting the day to day running of church life.
You will receive weekly mentoring from one of the clergy and managed and trained day to day as you work closely with the Heads of Ministry of your chosen teams. We will provide you with local accommodation, a living grant and a dynamic staff team to work with. See role description for details.
NB: The COVID-19 pandemic has affected every church greatly, and now is an exciting time to serve on a church leadership team as we invent new ways to serve our church and community. We anticipate that the internship program will benefit from a greater degree of flexibility in the next year, to allow interns to commit themselves to meaningful and fruitful areas of ministry as they arise. We are looking for interns who are passionate about serving their church in the best possible way; our dual commitment to you is to care for you personally throughout your time with us and to ensure the internship is shaped to serve your training for future ministry as its number one aim.
Those working with children and vulnerable adults will be subject to enhanced DBS disclosure.
