Student Youth Worker | Walsgrave baptist Church
Are you passionate about seeing young people come to know Jesus?
Are you motivated, approachable, enthusiastic and willing to learn?
Do you relate well to young people and their families?
Do you want to study for a Christian Youth Work degree and be paid?
We are seeking to recruit a Student Youth Worker who can join our expanding staff team at Walsgrave Baptist Church. We are a growing, diverse, evangelical charismatic family church on the outskirts of Coventry. We long to see our young people on fire for God and stuck into the local church and community. You will be working primarily with 11-18 year olds, discipling, pastoring and encouraging them to be fully involved members of the church, alongside a team of dedicated volunteers. There will also be opportunities to build relationships with those not connected to the church through schools work and outreach activities.
The successful applicant will train with Moorlands College on their BA (hons) Applied Theology with Youth and Community JNC at the Moorlands Midlands centre. This is a placement-based course so working for the church is part of the degree. Employed for a 3-year period, with the potential to extend after a review.
Starting August/September 2018 prior to the beginning of the academic year.
The basic terms:
• 3 year fixed term contract
• 20 hours/ week (weekly college study time is outside of these hours)
• 40 weeks/ year at WBC
• 7 weeks/ year at college
• 5 weeks/ year holiday
