Community Pastor | North Teignmouth Community Church

An Independent Evangelical church seeks a person who can lead us in fulfilling our vision to reach the growing local community in the northern part of the seaside resort and port of Teignmouth, in which there is no other church.

We seek someone who is able both to share and, where relevant, to take a lead in two key areas of church life.

1. The development of strategies to reach with the Good News the local community in the North Teignmouth area, as outlined in the church’s full vision document, “God’s Plan: Our Purpose." There is a need to target the age range 25-50 to begin to build a sustainable church base for the future. Within this there will be a specific requirement to develop youth work for young people aged 11-18, in order to enable children from our thriving Messy Church and from our Sunday School to transition seamlessly in their journey towards and into faith.

2. The strengthening of the spiritual life of the existing church community (currently of some 55 people, nearly 40 of them members) through regular worship leading, preaching, co-ordination and support of home groups (currently three) and some involvement in the personal care of people, especially when a substantial spiritual input might be needed. (Ongoing pastoral care of the existing church congregation will not be a primary purpose of the post.)
