Reports to: Team Vicar for Contemporary Worship

This is more than a job. It’s a calling.

We’ve seen God move in powerful ways over the past year — lives changed, the church growing, and a hunger for worship rising in our community. Since launching our first ever contemporary, charismatic worship service, All Saints Ryde has become a vibrant place where people are meeting Jesus and stepping into faith.

Now we’re looking for a Worship Leader to help us deepen, strengthen, and expand this ministry.

If you’re a passionate worship leader with a heart for the presence of God and a desire to lead others into life-giving, Spirit-filled worship, this is your moment. You’ll be joining a team committed to renewal and revival, building on strong foundations but still very much in a pioneering season.

We’re part of the HTB Network (alongside Harbour Church Portsmouth), and this is a unique opportunity to shape the worship culture of a growing church in a town ready for transformation.

Your Mission

- Lead others into God’s presence through passionate, contemporary worship

- Build and grow a worship and production team that loves Jesus and serves with joy

- Help shape a culture of worship that’s prayerful, bold, and expectant

- Bring creativity, excellence, and pastoral care to every space you lead — from Sundays to Alpha, youth to team nights

What You'll Do

- Lead worship regularly at our Sunday services, staff meeting and other key events (e.g. Alpha, team nights, youth gatherings)

- Recruit, train, and disciple a growing team of musicians, vocalists, and production volunteers

- Organise and lead rehearsals, preparing teams spiritually and practically to serve with excellence

- Work with the team to select songs that are theologically sound, spiritually uplifting, and appropriate for our context

- Work closely with the Team Vicar and service leaders to shape the flow and content of worship gatherings

- Oversee care and use of music and production equipment, maintaining quality and stewardship

- Help develop creative worship expressions that connect with those new to church and faith

- Play your part in wider church life — we’re a collaborative team who help each other when needed

Who We're Looking For

- A passionate follower of Jesus who loves the Church and wants to see people encounter God

- A skilled worship leader, confident in leading from guitar or keys

- Someone who thrives in a charismatic, Spirit-led environment and is sensitive to the Spirit’s leading

- A natural team builder who can identify and develop emerging talent

- A person who is organised and able to run rotas, plan rehearsals, and manage resources

- Comfortable giving and receiving feedback with grace and humility

- Energetic, relational, and fun — someone who brings joy to the team

- A self-starter who’s adaptable and proactive in a fast-moving environment

- Someone with a heart for the lost and a vision to see Ryde transformed through worship and mission

Essential Experience

- Experience leading worship in a contemporary church context

- Able to lead from guitar or keyboard to a high standard

- Comfortable working with volunteers and managing small teams

- Familiar with the technical and production aspects of live worship (sound, slides, etc.)

Desirable Experience

- Previous work on a church staff team

- Experience developing young or emerging leaders

- Ability to arrange or teach music

- Experience with multitracks, planning software, or worship tech

Special Conditions of Employment

This role has an occupational requirement for the post-holder to be a committed Christian, actively involved in the worshipping life of the church. You will be expected to be part of the community at All Saints and participate in team meetings, key events, and church life. You’ll also be expected to work some key dates outside of regular hours (Christmas, Easter, Focus Festival, Vision Days etc.), with time off in lieu provided.

Pay and Benefits

- £24,000 annual salary

- We’re able to offer shared ministry housing as part of this role, which is best suited for someone who’s single and happy to live in community with others on the team

- Support for relocation costs (if moving to the Isle of Wight)

- 25 days holiday + bank holidays

- Pension scheme (Nest)

- Ongoing training, development, and conference opportunities

- Part of a fun, faith-filled team committed to renewal and revival
