St John’s is embarking on a New Faith Adventure—a season of growth and renewal under the leadership of our new vicar. At the heart of this new beginning is a vision to Love God, Love Each Other, and Love Archway.
In this new season, St John’s is being supported as part of the Hackney and Islington Programme—a catalyst initiative that galvanises growth across the Hackney and Islington boroughs by fostering strategic and sustainable partnerships and church plants. The programme supports a mixed ecology of churches that are increasingly young, culturally diverse, rooted in low-income communities, and seeing a renewal of catholic mission.
One of the key ways we believe God is calling us to grow is through the life and faith of families, children, and young people.
This role is pivotal in shaping that future—helping to nurture an environment where children and young people encounter Jesus, where parents and carers are supported, and where a new generation is discipled into lifelong faith. It spans all three parts of our vision: forming young people in worship, building community among families, and reaching out with love to the wider parish.
We’re excited to find someone who is faith-filled, team-minded, and passionate about seeing young people and families come alive in Christ—someone who can equip others, think creatively, and help us build a ministry that is joyful, welcoming, and sustainable for the long term.
This is a part-time role with the possibility of a full time role for the right candidate (2.5 - 5 days a week), including Sundays and Tuesdays, with flexibility for the rest of the week. Some evening and weekend work will be needed around key events (like Christmas and Easter). The salary is £29,000–£34,000 pro rata, depending on experience.
