Interns would be able to specialise in one of the following:
• Children’s Ministry
• Youth Ministry
• Worship Ministry
The commitment is a 30 hours per week comprised of the following:
• 6 hours training
• 20 hours paid placement in your ministry at the London Living Wage (equivalent to £9,460 over the 10 month placement)
• 4 hours volunteering
Sunday would be regarded as one of your working days, and within your timetable space would be given for personal spiritual development and reflection: for example completing your Spirit-life Foundation assignments and activations.
You would be a student in the School of Spirit-Life Foundations.
You would be part of Lighthouse team for the duration of your Internship and so involved in all core activities: Sunday services, staff meetings, church community times away such as Focus or conferences.
There would be the potential to learn from and experience other Lighthouse ministries as your interests/gifting and opportunities allow; for example you might apply as Youth Ministry Intern because you have a particular passion for working with young people, but if you also had an interest in worship or inner healing we would look for you to be able to have time learning from those teams.
You would have regular supervision for personal reflection/coaching with both a School of Spirit Life tutor and your Ministry area Line-Manger.
This Internship is for 10 months with the possibility of a second year.
There would be a 6 week and 3 month mutual review to complete the probation period.
You would be entitled to 4 weeks holiday per year and all usual UK Bank Holidays.
To be accepted for this Internship you would need to complete a DBS.
A willingness to participate in activities online is required - for example meetings over Zoom.
There is a degree of flexibility around start and end dates - to be agreed prior to commencement.
This could be a great opportunity for those exploring God’s calling, including ordination in Church of England, and we actively encourage applications from people of ethnic minorities.
Lighthouse London is a growing church with a big Spirit-filled vision; to be a light to the city and the nations. Since we planted from HTB in 2006, we have grown to be a passionate diverse community from many countries and backgrounds. We love to worship in the Presence of God, to see lives changed through encounter with Jesus, and to impact this great city and beyond with the Kingdom of God. We are a parish church within the Church of England, and also have great partnerships with others.
The Lighthouse's vision is reflected in 4 characteristics which underpin who we are:
Encounter - that we experience the Presence of God by His Spirit through worship, prayer and His Word;
Spiritual identity - for each person to come to realise their worth and divine purpose as a daughter or son of their Heavenly Father;
Every Person - to welcome people of all nations and backgrounds, encouraging them to grow in their relationship with the Living God;
Impact - to touch lives beyond the church family with Jesus’ love.
