St Luke’s is a vibrant church called to share the good news of Jesus. Our vision is to be a community ‘centred on Jesus, transforming north London, one life at a time’.

We are looking for a Children and Families’ Ministry Lead who can engage not just the child in worship, discipleship and mission, but also their family that they might cheer each other on in following Jesus all week round.

About the Role


Plan and deliver all Sunday children’s work provision alongside key Children and Families’ team leaders.
Recruit, train, develop and deploy Team members and leaders made up of parents, non-parents, youth and children.
Communicate with and develop relationships of trust with parents.
Administrate and lead ‘Crumbs’ toddler group, communicating with team & parents.
Represent the priorities of Children & Families’ ministry as part of the staff team.
Propose and lead occasional events, eg, Light Party.
Propose and lead occasional courses, eg, Parenting For Faith.
Look for ways of engaging with the local community, eg, developing relationships with Torriano primary school or the NW5 community project.
Network with children’s leaders from other churches, seeking to resource them where possible.
Ensure best safeguarding practice across the ministry.

Prepare curriculum and resources for Sunday provision in consultation with Children & Families’ team leaders.
Manage the Children & Families’ ministry annual budget.
Administrating ‘safe recruitment’ process for team, including document checks for DBS.
Lead and administrate all safeguarding policies, ensuring best safeguarding practice in all areas of children and families’ ministry at St Luke’s.

Keep up to date with developments, trends & resources within the field of renewed children’s ministry.
Engage with wider church strategic and pastoral issues as required.
Embrace and seek to model the Vision and Values of St Luke’s as outlined by the Vicar and uphold the code of conduct supported by the Church of England.
Maintain life-giving patterns of personal prayer, worship, Bible study and church fellowship.

Regular Meeting:

Weekly Staff worship and Forum meetings
Monthly supervisions with Line Manager
Regular meetings with Children & Families’ team members
