Description of Job
Do you want to play a leading role, serving people in the Farnborough area who are facing crippling debt?
Are you enthusiastic about empowering the church to build bridges into the lives of people in the community?
Do you want to help tackle one of the biggest causes of poverty in the UK?
St Peter’s Church, Farnborough, in partnership with Christians Against Poverty (CAP), is looking to appoint a Debt Centre Manager to run our CAP Debt Centre. We are looking for an enthusiastic Christian to lead this ministry. Candidates need to have good organisational skills, a passion to help people in need and a confident ability to pray for others and to communicate the hope of the gospel. Full training and support will be provided.
As this is a partnership appointment with St Peter’s and CAP, following a church interview, our recommended candidate will then have a follow-up interview with CAP before the position is offered. The post is also subject to obtaining a satisfactory DBS check.
• £11,440 per annum
• 16 hours per week, comprised of four sessions of four consecutive hours wherever possible. At least two sessions need to be within normal working hours of 9am–5pm, Monday to Friday
• Permanent Position
St Peter’s Church expects this to be a paid appointment, but anyone wishing to fulfil the role as a volunteer (paid expenses) can apply at the same time as other applicants. For further details and information about how to apply, please contact our Church Office (admin@stpetersfarnborough.org.uk or on 01252 513111, office hours 10am-3pm Mon – Thu, 10am-1pm Fri).
Closing date for applications: Midnight 19 Apr 2023. Interviews: 27 Apr 2023 (tbc). Expected start date: 5 June 2023 (tbc).
Due to the nature of the role in communicating the beliefs of the Christian faith, there is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) that the post holder be a Christian.
