The New Wine Training Centre in Cheltenham operates from Trinity Cheltenham, which is a large, lively charismatic church in the New Wine network that coordinates regional New Wine events. Its vision is 'to make committed followers of Jesus who are radical in their pursuit of him and his presence, irrevocably committed to one another and relentless in their pursuit to see other people come and know Jesus, leading to communities and nations being transformed for him.' Trinity also runs a School of Theology in partnership with St Paul's Theological Centre and St Mellitus College, London. All interns will have an opportunity to grow in their experiences of evangelism and outreach in the community.
Teaching (1 day/wk)
Live teaching takes place each week in term time on a Tuesday. It includes community time in our hub, prayer, personal reflection and worship alongside a curriculum taught by internal and external speakers. The teaching varies from topics within streams including Doctrine & Practical Theology, Character, Life Hacks and Unity, as well as learning how to communicate our faith with others.
As well as placements based within Trinity Cheltenham, we have partnerships across the diocese and beyond. As such, hours serving can vary depending on where you choose your placement to be. Most Placements ask for 12 hours a week in term time (normally one day a week in an area you are passionate about, and half elsewhere). Placements include Kids, Students, Transform (ministry to vulnerable adults), Youth, PSALMS (local youth sports ministry), a local Gym and Wellbeing centre, a community centre, Digital Evangelism (with our partners in Hereford Diocese). Please see our website for an up to date list.
£1000, either payable at the beginning of the course or split to be paid termly, with a £150 deposit payable at the beginning of the course.
NWDY Students find their own accommodation, but can very easily liaise with us so we can look at potential house shares or lodging with a family-based here. Some placements do offer accommodation. Students are encouraged to find a part-time job alongside the course to support themselves throughout the year.
