What is a local Network for?
To support ministers and Christian leaders. We want to provide a context for prayer, ministry and encouragement that can help sustain people in ministry (which can be so demanding and lonely) for the long haul; To share good practice and provide some ‘in service’ reflections to help sharpen ministry around our shared ‘Kingdom’ values; To help us keep or transition local Churches into mission minded communities working for the transformation of society and the re-evangelisation of our City and region.
How do we do this?
We have three possible levels of gathering throughout the year:
- CORE GROUPS: Small regular gatherings of leaders, meeting for prayer and accountability. I meet monthly with four other senior church leaders from the network for this purpose.
- CLUSTERS: There are six meetings a year for anyone in the network to attend. We eat and drink together, worship, pray and minister, and have some input from a practitioner. It’s a great place to catch up and share news.
- CELEBRATIONS: There are occasional larger gatherings or training days that give the whole church an opportunity to attend something that has a New Wine feel, with a worship band, speaker and ministry team. Sometimes we piggy-back other City or regional events which share our values.
You can buy into as little or as much of these activities as you wish of course, but together they are our response to making New Wine work for you locally and throughout the year. Our cluster programme this year is aimed at re-enforcing these values.
