The Move

We've got something to tell you...

I’m so excited by our move to the East of England showground in Peterborough. New Wine has never been an event or conference – we are a family of leaders and churches seeking to receive all that God is pouring out.

We gather as a family in the summer to celebrate everything God has done in our lives, and to encounter him afresh together and take his blessing back to our churches and communities – to see the nation changed through the local Church.

With the nation in mind, we’ve been praying for several years for an opportunity to move our summer events to a more central location. Peterborough is near major transport routes and is more easily accessible for a greater number of people. The showground has excellent facilities, with room for us grow and, for any non-campers, over 1,000 hotel rooms nearby!

The move will bring exciting new possibilities, but our vision, core values and mission – and pretty much all the things we love about United – will remain the same.

We’re so grateful to God for our past, and excited about our future. We’ve had 30 years of blessing at Shepton Mallet, and we know God will continue to bless us as we follow his leading to Peterborough.

You’ll find more information and answers to some questions you may have below – with much more to share in the coming months.

Bookings for United 19 will be open earlier than normal, and we’d love you to join us at the start of this new chapter for New Wine.

Thanks for being part of our family.

Questions & Answers

Why move?

View the answer →

New Wine is about so much more than the United summer gatherings, but our annual time to gather and empower the New Wine family is an integral part of New Wine's vision. For some years we have been praying for a more central location that will enable even more of the family to gather together. The opportunity of moving to the East of England Showground in Peterborough came to us recently and we believe this is the answer to our prayers and the right next move for us. It's a great showground in a great location.

Are you moving because of other Christian festivals?

View the answer →

It does seem that God is calling a number of Christian ministries into a time of change at the moment but we are not moving because of anyone else. We're moving because we feel it is what God has as the next chapter in New Wine's story. We're able to move to this showground because Kingdom Faith has decided to draw their summer Faith Camp event to a close. We have been talking together with them for some months about the new season that they believe God is leading Kingdom Faith into and we're excited for them and pray that it will be season of immense blessing. Our close cousins Soul Survivor moved to the showground in Peterborough recently and they are finding it to be a wonderful venue. They have been helpful to us in working out that the showground will suit a gathering of our type and size and we're very grateful for their help.

Why not multiple locations?

Throughout the year New Wine runs numerous local groups and events to support, train and empower the local church across the nation. We're always reviewing how we do these well and announcements about the future of Inspire and other regional conferences will be made in due course. The heart of United is different though – it is where we gather to worship and meet God together in unity, and to value, celebrate and learn from our diversity.

Will it be very different?

View the answer →

The things you know and love about New Wine United won't change. The same venues and ministries will be there; the same awesome kids and youth work; a long list of gifted inspirational speakers and spirit-filled worship and ministry and so much more that you value. The showground has excellent facilities and is very easily accessible so camping and moving around the site will feel different. This move gives us the opportunity to make the United experience even better for you.

When is it and what will it cost?

View the answer →

We aim to keep the dates the same: two weeks in late July/early August. Our first Peterborough event, United 19, will be Sat 27 July – Fri 2 August (Week One) and Sun 4 – Sat 10 August (Week Two). The cost will be very similar; we're committed to keeping prices as low as we can. In addition, we aim to open a special 'at conference' rate this year, with lower ticket fees for those attending United 18.

What about all my other questions?

We know you may have lots more questions at this stage and we want you to be as confident about the move as we are. We'll be putting out information on accommodation options, caravan and hotel providers and local area amenities (including for the rest day options) soon. Please bear with us as we aim to answer all of these in the coming weeks and months and check this site for the most up-to-date information. And make sure you’re signed up to receive New Wine ‘Event and resource updates’ so that you don't miss any important announcements.
