Catering Team

United could not happen without the thousands of volunteers who give their time and energy, and we can’t feed them without our fantastic CateringTeam. We all know that an army marches on its stomach, and at United we definitely have an army to feed!

This team is responsible for feeding all the other team members on site – everything from preparing and cooking delicious food, greeting hungry team members, serving the food with a smile, cleaning up and looking after the Catering venue.

You’ll be busy but you’ll be part of a great team and will have a lot of fun. You’ll get a free place and all your meals provided (and you’ll know who cooked them!).

As with most teams, you’ll get a free ticket to the event (except for the £25 fee that covers admin and all meals); you will need to provide your own accommodation (either on or off site).

Hours:

Whilst we aim to work on a shift pattern to cover breakfast, you will be required to be at the team meeting every day and then work over lunch and dinner. Within that there will be breaks and time for informal prayer, fun and relationship building. We aim to be finished by 7pm each evening to gather together for the main celebration (we even have reserved seating in the Arena).

“Serving on the Catering team is the biggest blessing! Renowned for being one of the ‘hardest working’ teams, you come away shattered, but totally filled with joy and blessings. You get to serve every single volunteer and staff member on site; hearing countless amazing testimonies and experiences, and seeing beautiful smiling faces three times a day (breakfast faces are always the best)! You get to work together as part of a fabulous varied team with wise and spirit-filled leaders. Our daily team meetings and times for sharing, worship and prayer are challenging and edifying, and with many team members returning year on year you really do build excellent relationships. Serving and worshipping together as a family…it’s pretty hard to beat!”

Expectation for team members

Those who volunteer for New Wine teams at United do so based on their Christian profession and way of life. As a team volunteer, your conduct on site is expected to be consistent with New Wine’s ethos and understanding of the teaching of the New Testament.

Part of New Wine’s ethos is our adherence to the Evangelical Alliance (EA) basis of faith and in submitting your team application you are acknowledging your acceptance to do the same.
