The Children and Families Outreach Worker will join the existing Youth, Children and Families team in leading an effective and exemplary children and families’ ministry at The Belfrey, specifically targeting outreach to 0-11s and their families in local communities across York. There will be two strategic social action strands to the work, both focused on low income families: Early Years provision through toddler groups, and support for families outside of the church, who are in a particular period of need. This will include partnering with other churches across the Diocese of York (specifically York Deanery) in delivering effective Early Years outreach ministry and with a variety of community and church projects in and around York, including developing involvement with the Family Hubs network.
We are looking for someone with experience of working with families who are experiencing need and experience of planning, leading and running high quality children’s provision, ideally in an Early Years setting. There is potential for this role to be part-time as part of a job share if the terms are agreeable with all parties involved (i.e. two candidates and employer). If you would like to discuss the role before applying, please get in touch with the Children and Families Worker, Liz Hunt (liz.hunt@belfrey.org).
