Music Pastor
@ Saint George the Martyr (SGTM)
The Music Pastor will have primary responsibility for all the music at SGTM. The role
will include developing and leading music at services in the church building
throughout the week (and also out into our parish school and local community).
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
Leading and enabling heartfelt worship that draws the whole church together
as one body, including enabling musicians from within the congregation
Developing music at St George’s that is broad in its range, contemporary in
approach and participatory in its making
Defining and managing the creative worship and production budget
Leading worship with St George the Martyr Primary school and its young
musicians, as well as teenagers in the wider community
Developing relationships and partnerships (including with local musicians) to
enable the church building to be a viable and popular performance space
Building a creative production and worship team to support the delivery of
weekly services and special occasions
Team
Recruit, screen, train, and maintain volunteer team, for both music and A/V
Create a standard training template for all team members to complete
Inspire church members to serve

Other
Continually re-assess the ministry and recognize areas for improvement
(including with all A/V equipment, software and digital presence online)
Support large events/courses/other ministries as needed to contribute to the
wider work of SGTM.
Skills/Qualifications
Gifted musician
Demonstrated experience in this field
Passion for music and the arts
Leading, team building and pastoring skills
Continual self-development and learning
Willingness to ‘muck in ‘ and work as part of the wider SGTM team

This is a small and special church: the worship is a blend of traditional and modern, the furnishings and decor are a blend of historic and contemporary, and the congregation has a heart to know and love one another locally but also impact the wider city.
