Childrens and Families Minister

 St Hugh’s is an exciting and growing Anglican evangelical, charismatic church set in the multi-cultural parish of Lewsey in Luton. There is a deep desire within the congregation to follow Christ and reach out with the love of Christ to our community, with the word of God being fundamental to everything we do.

 Our vision is to “To give everyone in Lewsey, Luton and beyond an opportunity to experience the transforming love of God through an encounter with a follower of Jesus” Going DEEPER, Growing STRONGER, Reaching WIDER

 We see seeking to fulfil 4 key purposes:  

• Being a house of prayer for the nations
• Seeking God to bring healing to those who are hurt in mind, body and spirit
• Becoming a family of all nations
• Be a community of disciples who are reaching our community with the Love of Christ

 Person Specification

 We have a good Children’s program at St Hugh’s, a large parents and toddlers group (Tiddlers) and a Messy Church that attracts regularly over 100 children and families from the Community. We are looking for a new Children’s and families worker to build on the excellent work that is happening each week who will work closely with our volunteers, Vicar, Curate, other members of staff and PCC to fulfil our vision to reach children, families and our local community with the love of Christ.

 You should have a deep Christian faith; great interpersonal skills and good experience of growing the kingdom amongst children and families. We are looking for someone who is good at encouraging, equipping and developing others, we are wanting to develop family discipleship too so if you have experience in this we hope you will apply.

 We would consider a job share, a part time or full time person for this post. We are also prayerfully and actively seeking candidates from ethnic minority backgrounds.
