Clifton Parish Churches are seeking a visionary and dynamic full time youth worker to lead our youth ministry. This role will give you the opportunity to reimagine and reinvigorate our existing youth ministry and continue to make it relevant and engaging for young people aged 11-18 in our churches and local community post pandemic. You will be passionate about your faith and sharing it in accessible and innovative ways with young people. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
· To reimagine and implement an innovative, and culturally relevant strategy for youth work which focuses on the two areas of discipleship and outreach so that young people can develop their Christian faith.
· To initiate links with local secondary schools and be visible by offering appropriate support to young people within the school setting.
· To build, lead, equip and inspire a team of volunteers to support youth work within the parish.
· To develop new and relevant evangelistic opportunities to connect with young people in the wider community.
· To regularly appraise and review initiatives set up and activities undertaken, ensuring they are relevant and effective and changing where necessary in consultation with the Church leadership team and Youth Work Management Committee.
· To work collaboratively with the Children and Families’ Worker and Church leadership team
KEY TASKS
CHURCH AND COMMUNITY
· Encourage, disciple, and motivate our existing young people to develop spiritually through engaging teaching sessions and living out your faith authentically.
· Reimagine, create and deliver a youth work strategy to engage with our current young people and those in our local community.
· Develop effective communication strategies to connect with young people and their families.
· Build, equip and motivate a team of volunteers to support youth work within the parish and community.
· Develop partnerships with local secondary schools and other organisations within the city.
· Integrate young people into the life of the church, encouraging them to use their skills and gifts.
MANAGEMENT AND ACCOUNTABILITY
· Responsible to the Parish Safeguarding Officer for safer recruitment and delivery of all activities in line with the Parish Safeguarding Policy.
· Work closely with your line manager /mentor who will provide direction and support for aspects of youth work and will offer spiritual support and guidance.
· Attend regular supervision and team meetings.
· Access opportunities for training and spiritual reflection and to connect with other local youth workers and Diocesan events/support networks.
· Keep up to date with the changing needs of young people and youth culture.
· Responsible for you own spiritual growth in both reading the Bible and prayer. Take a regular part in the worshipping life of the church.
· Work collaboratively with the Children and Families’ Worker.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
· Salary: circa £24,000 – £26,000 and a pension contribution, dependent upon experience & qualifications.
· We would consider a part-time applicant (pro rata) if we believe that the applicant could fulfil the role
· Hours of work: 37 hours per week worked flexibly
· Opportunities for study, training & networking.
· 1 day per month for personal retreat.
· 5 weeks annual leave per year and Bank Holidays.
· All reasonable expenses will be reimbursed and a small allowance made available for training and books.
· Appointment is subject to satisfactory references, enhanced DBS check and proof of qualification (where appropriate).
· Appointment will be subject to satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.

EXPERIENCE
- A visionary individual with proven experience of establishing new initiatives with young people
- Youth work qualification or equivalent
- Experience of leading and developing young people in their relationship with Jesus
- Experience with youth work both within church, schools and the community
- Experience of handling budgets and accessing external funding
