Christian Youth Worker
Overview
Oaks Community Church in Aylesbury, Bucks is looking for someone to join us who shares our passion for investing in young people, both in the church family and in the local community.
This role requires someone who loves Jesus, is keen to disciple young people, is able to lead and encourage a team of volunteers and is ready to fully engage in the wider life of the church family.
We’re looking for someone who will bring enthusiasm and imagination in leading the work with our young people and will pioneer new works in our local community.
The main areas of responsibility will be leading the work amongst our young people, developing and equipping our existing team of volunteers and providing vision as we seek to grow our existing work both in the church setting and in the wider community.
We are looking for someone with leadership gifts and experience, creativity, resourcefulness, energy, passion, wisdom and the ability not to take themselves too seriously!
The position is for a minimum of 8 hours per week and can grow with the postholders vision to 16 hours per week
Being able to lead a team of volunteers, plus commitment to the Evangelical Alliance Statement of faith are important. There is a genuine occupational requirement that the post holder be a practicing Christian in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. An enhanced DBS check will be required.
