St Mary’s and St James the Great comprises a growing Christian community of 400 believers, committed and passionate about sharing their faith in Witney and the surrounding communities.

We are seeking an energetic ‘leader of leaders’ to build on the spiritual and numerical growth we have experienced over the last 10 years. Our new vicar will build upon the existing momentum and missional trajectory, inspiring the church family to fully utilise their gifts. He or she will be a sound Biblical teacher, led by the Holy Spirit and able to guide others to experience life in the Spirit.

We are situated in Witney, an attractive market town with excellent amenities, good schools and good links to Oxford and the surrounding Cotswolds.

We are looking for someone who: 

  • Has proven leadership experience and the ability to grow leaders, teams and communities 
  • Has a clear vision of God’s Kingdom, open to the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit
  • Can inspire, equip and envision people of all ages
  • Is outward-facing and passionate about mission 
  • Is a talented team leader
