Hours: 30 hours per week (negotiable), ideally spread over 4 days and will include some evening and weekends
Salary: £28,000 p.a., pro rata (annual leave 28 days p.a. pro rata)

About the role
We are excited to create a new role for a Families Engagement Lead who will help us bring this vision to life. We hope this person will:
- Work closely with our Community Engagement Lead, Café Manager, and Pastoral Care Team
- Build relationships with families in our community, connecting through weekday activities and Sunday gatherings
- Take the lead or assist in children’s and youth groups, and connect with local schools, sharing the good news of Jesus in ways that are relevant and engaging
- Play an active part in church life, inspiring and equipping volunteers and team members
- Help shape and develop this role as we grow together
Current activities the post holder could engage with:
- Toddler groups
- All-age services and events
- Midweek kids’ clubs
- Sunday children’s groups
- Community café outreach
- Schools work
- Collaborative outreach events with local churches
We are also eager to explore new initiatives and fresh ideas you may bring!
Person Specification
Essential qualities:
- A heart for helping families feel part of church life
- Strong communication and listening skills
- A passion for sharing your faith in meaningful ways
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated, encouraging, and supportive of others
- Openness to working with a wide range of people and needs
- Good understanding of safeguarding procedures
- Confidence in leading, inspiring, and praying with others
Desirable experience:
- Previous leadership experience
- Experience working or volunteering in schools, children’s, or youth groups
- Awareness or experience of supporting neurodivergent children and families
- A sense of fun and creativity

Wellsprings Community Church in Taunton is seeking a Families Engagement Lead (30 hrs/week - negotiable, £28k pro rata) to join our vibrant team and church family. You’ll connect with local families, lead children’s and family activities, support outreach in schools, and help shape the future of our growing church.
We’re looking for someone with a heart for people, strong communication skills, and a lively, authentic Christian faith. Experience in children’s or youth work is a plus.
