Director

The Christian Healing Mission
Description of Job

CHM is looking for a new director with a heart to raise the spiritual temperature, starting in England. Beginning with the existing Encounter Prayer format, the opportunity is to engage churches and people directly to bring them into encounter with Christ. Building on that, and training in the ministry of healing, the new director will strengthen existing links and establish new links with other churches and healing organisations with the goal of creating momentum in the wider church, bringing the good news of Jesus and bringing his healing. The expectation is that the new director will over time build out the ministry that the Lord is calling them to. We are looking to join in with what the Lord is doing, acknowledging that this changes over time.

As well as leading ministry, there is an organisational element to the role, leading staff (there are currently two) and operational matters.

Background and Context

CHM has existed in a few iterations since the 1940s. It was always a location based ministry, and over the years activities have ranged from services to, more recently, offering a place where anyone could come and be prayed for, to receive healing. During the covid pandemic the decision was taken to close the healing venue and office in West London, and move to a distributed model, delivering content via video calls and in person at churches. This has the benefit of broadening the reach of CHM.

CHM is an independent charity. Given their number, engagement with Anglican and Catholic churches is expected to be a large part of future work, however the work of CHM is non-denominational and we have engaged churches and people from many different churches (or no church) in recent years. The applicant should be an ordained minister in a recognised denomination.

The Christian Healing Mission

The Christian Healing Mission (CHM) is an online healing charity. In one format or another, we have existed since 1948 and our aims are still the same – to encourage individuals and churches to seek the living God for relationship, healing and transformation.
