Description of Job

Holy Trinity Church is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Children and Families Worker to build a thriving children’s and families ministry within Holy Trinity and the wider community. We are looking for someone to come and join the Holy Trinity family and work alongside us to transform the lives of children and families, especially through developing new ministries and initiatives. The postholder will work closely with schools and connections within the community to create more opportunities for children and their families to encounter Jesus.

Holy Trinity is an all age church community of ordinary people full of life and energy seeking to grow in number and discipleship in the midst of the complexity of modern life. Children and Families are a key strand of their vision and priorities. You would join the church at an exciting time and be central to realising its vision.

The successful applicant will be part of a growing team based at St. Cuthbert’s Church in Darlington who are reaching out in new ways of mission and ministry to the people of Darlington. Due to the funding structure, the postholder will be employed by St. Cuthbert’s Church, but will predominantly work at Holy Trinity Church. You would be line managed by the Priest-in- Charge Rev James Harvey who has responsibility for both Holy Trinity and St. Cuthbert’s Churches.

We offer an exciting job opportunity with scope to shape it to the postholders skills, a growing church community and a supportive environment to work in as part of a growing and dynamic team. In addition, there is an opportunity to combine this role with studying for a part funded BA/MA in Children’s and Families Ministry (through CYM – https://cym.ac.uk/) as part of your professional development.

This post is funded for 5 years (through Resourcing Church investment), however all employees will be subject to a 6-month probationary period and annual appraisal. Holy Trinity Church, Darlington, is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of others and expects all staff to share in this commitment. This post will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

If you would like to join us, please go to our website https://stcuthbertsdarlington.org.uk/vacancies or contact revjames@holytrinity-darlington.org.uk for more information. The closing date is 16th July 2023
