Pray for churches to be a lifeline for people struggling with debt

This year, CAP are celebrating 25 years of God transforming lives through the Church in the UK. Every year, around 2,000 people become debt free through CAP, and behind every one of these people is a local church brimming with passionate Christians who are committed to sharing God’s love with their community.

CAP have also seen the power of the Church in action this past year, as churches shone the hope of Jesus in the darkness, just like in Matthew 5:15-16: ‘People do not light a lamp and put it under a basket but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good deeds and give honor to your Father in heaven’.

So, as church buildings begin opening up again and Sunday services, CAP services or other ministries resume in-person once again, let’s pray that local churches around the UK would continue to be a lifeline for the disadvantaged and isolated, reaching those they’ve connected with this year and more.

Would you also join us in praying for the 715 UK churches affiliated with CAP as they restart up their in-person debt help and community groups tackling poverty and its causes?

Let’s also lift up CAP group leaders, Debt Coaches, befrienders and Centre Managers as they adjust back to face-to-face services. Pray that they’ll be able to offer the above-and-beyond practical and emotional support for which CAP is renowned, equipping those in their community to find work, manage their money and gain vital life skills to move forward from the past year.

Pray that the Church will continue to shine brighter than ever with the love of Jesus.
