Part-time Worship Pastor

Lively diverse church looking for experienced musician/vocalist to develop sung worship in established North London evangelical church.

This is an exciting role which would suit a versatile musician with strong team skills, emotional intelligence, and a passionate vision for the power of musical worship to ignite faith in Jesus. Because this is a part-time role, in an arts context, we anticipate ongoing agreed flexibility over working patterns. Sunday is the main working day, and will be a long day (details in the job description).

There is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) that the post-holder is a practising Christian. Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 applies. Applicants must have an existing right to work in the UK.

The job holder will lead and encourage the congregations and our other groups to worship God and encourage each other by the use of music. We expect the job holder to have experience of leading vocally and musically, both alone and within a band setting to a high standard.
At St James, we have morning and evening services. The morning has a deliberate range of new, contemporary and more established songs and hymns. The Gathering, our evening service, has a wholly contemporary feel. This role leads our new and contemporary styles, but takes responsibility for working with those providing more traditional elements.
